MASK FABRIC on Linux

Linux downloads (AppImage and .deb) are coming soon. Until then, all of FABRIC works on Linux in the browser, and you can install it so it opens like any other app.

Chrome, Chromium or Microsoft Edge

  1. Open maskfabric.ai and select Open FABRIC.
  2. Select the Install icon at the right of the address bar (a screen with a down arrow).
  3. Select Install. FABRIC opens in its own window and appears in your applications menu.

Firefox

FABRIC works fully in Firefox. Firefox does not install web apps, so keep a bookmark, or use Chrome or Edge for an app window.

Private AI on Linux (optional)

FABRIC can use AI that runs entirely on your computer, so your documents never leave it.

  1. Install the free Ollama for Linux (one command, shown on that page).
  2. Run ollama pull qwen2.5:3b (a free model, about 2 GB).
  3. In FABRIC, open the AI panel, select ⚙ (AI models) and choose the model.

8 GB of memory or more works best; an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card makes it faster. You can also add a cloud AI such as Claude or ChatGPT in the same window.
